Baptist Pastor Tazed Pt 2 – With Comment Responses

Ok – some of you guys have really gone too far in your comments on my latest video – I am now being told I would’ve gone along with Stalin and Hitler – that I am a coward – and that I am wrong for opposing Mr Steve Anderson’s methods concerning the Border Patrol Checkpoint because he is a brother in Christ and a self professed Baptist Pastor…

Let me first say this – I would never support Stalin or Hitler… I will never do anything that compromises my faith in Christ – I will never follow a government that asks me to oppose the teachings of Christ. This is exactly how Jesus and the Apostles handled the government powers over them…

For example – even though Jesus was exempt from the temple tax, being the Son of God, He still paid the temple tax so not to offend them… (Mt 17:24-27

I understand that there are people challenging the check points as being unconstitutional – but most of you seem to have missed that… I also stated I knew his rights had been violated… but again – most of you missed that…

Let me point out a few things about this event that some of you seem to overlook -

1) You see, Steve Anderson decided that he was going to fight this check point from the front seat of his car, with a camera in hand, with complete disregard to the way Christ has instructed us to handle these kind of situations… if Mr Anderson really wanted to fight this checkpoint – he should’ve taken his case to court – but instead – he decided to provoke these agents to the point of risking his own physical well being… now I never said that what those agents did to him was ok – or justified – but as a man who claims the tile of Pastor – I wonder how his example is supposed to be a reflection of Christ. As stated in my initial video – Matthew 5:38-41 says “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

Many of you said I was being cowardly – fearful – wimpy – but you show your ignorance to what Jesus was actually saying there… don’t feel alone – I didn’t get the deeper definition of the passage until I was corrected by my brother in Christ – Third Proverb. You see, this passage doesn’t mean you you are weak and impotent against an evil man – but instead – that you turn the tables on the evil man, humiliating him by taking the higher ground… for more information on the truth behind this passage you should check out third proverb’s video called “Turn Your Cheek, Give Your Cloak & Walk Another Mile ” –

– in my opinion – in order for Mr Anderson to align himself with this passage – he should have taken that camera of his, documented the fact that he had told the agents that they were breaking his 4th amendment rights – and then complied with everything they asked… filming the whole inccident – having something substantial for his lawsuit.

Of course – the catch 22 here is that if Mr Anderson had complied, the agents would’ve asked a few questions, checked his ID, and let him go… but that surely wouldn’t attract the kind of attention that it has… and frankly – I believe that Mr Anderson manipulated this situation in order to produce as much attention as possible…

2) If you need evidence that this was a situation that Mr Anderson manipulated check this out…

First -  He had done this before. Oh yeah – there is a video of him doing this same thing.

The video is shot by Mr Anderson himself, from inside his car. Its actually a three part video – but if you watch it – you’ll find some of the agents in this video are named in Mr Anderson’s video where he testifies about the abuse he endured… you might be thinking – so what? How many times did he pull into these check points and create these problems? He made himself known to be a trouble maker… and according to this 3 part video they finally let him go – but how many times could he pull this without an officer saying – hey – he might actually be hiding something… if you watch the video – you will see how ridiculous he acted…

Second – the refusal to roll down his window – the refusal to present a driver’s license – and his over all attitude gives the officers reason to be suspicious. His behavior is outside the normal behavior of people going through the check point. For all those cops knew – Mr Anderson had a gun hidden in his lap; or maybe he had an illegal alien in the trunk; maybe he was smuggling firearms or drugs;

Third – Mr Anderson published a video detailing the events of the night he was beaten – but what is even more interesting to me is how he titled his video. Mr Anderson did not title this video ‘US Citizen beaten tazed by Border Patrol – 11 stitches’ – no no – instead he posted the video as ‘Baptist Pastor beaten tazed by Border Patrol – 11 stitches’ – drawing far more attention and stirring up the sympathy outrage of most American Christians even though the agents had no idea he was a pastor – the title implies that he was beaten as a pastor – which would have made this a case of religious percecution – when the truth is he was beaten as a US Citizen who refused to comply in any way.

Whats truly sad is its working. Many of the responses I’ve received prove that. Christians all over are raging over this -  calling this man an American Hero – and they are being caught up in this deceptive ploy.

Now I’d like to take a few minutes to look at some of the comments people have sent me…

“You asked “what would Jesus do?” Well, what do you think he will do? He’s going to destroy these corrupted gov’ts in his return. “

This comment isn’t so bad – but it seems to demonstrate a fundemental flaw that many American Christians share – it doesn’t matter what Jesus WILL Do – what matters is that we are following what He told us to do…

“The checkpoint was NOT legal because it WASN’T constitutional. The constitution IS the law, the supreme law of the U.S. He did not disobey any law!”

If the Supreme Court has upheld these check points than they are legal – and if they are unconstitutional – that is a battle for the courts – Anderson can’t fight this fight in the check point itself.

“the baptist pastor did the right thing. Jesus never told us or the apostles to roll over for the government.”

Really? Ever hear the phrase Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s and give unto God what is God’s? Ever read Romans 13? This is a case of American pride being held higher than the teachings of Jesus Christ!

“‘Not sure you are right about this Chris. You are actually putting blame on Rev. Anderson.”

Yes – I am blaming Anderson for creating the situation – but I do not blame him for the violence.

“I do, recall Paul, himself Roman, griping about being beaten in public by Romans. Paul, in turn, used his rights as a roman citizen to get out of jail. Acts 16″

Yep – this is true – but Anderson wasn’t being beaten – he was initially being asked to roll down his window, answer a question or two, and perhaps produce a driver’s license – but his refusal created suspicion which promoted the demand for a search – and when he refused to comply with that – the heat was on…

“What if our evil government wants us to take the mark of the beast? I am glad that there are man of God willing to be an example now in resisting evil.”

We obviously cannot accept the Mark of the Beast – that is against the teachings of Christ. Submitting to the demands of a search is not. Anderson has only given an example of how to decietfully manipulate a situation to bring about rebellion…

“He also burns bibles.”

It is true – Mr Anderson has a video where he gleefully burns NIV bibles

“by submitting he would legitimize their behaviour, emboldening them even more”

I disagree – if we act in accordance of the deeper meanings behind Matthew 5:39-41 – then we might open the eyes of individuals by humiliating them through the righteousness of God.

“The US is a republic not a theocracy.”

Indeed – thats why I say that its a matter of being Christian before we are American

“Jesus would have Pwned em and the guards would have died right there on the spot.”

This is not true – Jesus encountered the Jewish temple guard as well as Roman soldiers and he loved them.

“if you think Anderson was wrong in his actions by trying to stand firm on his 4th ammend rights as a US citizen, then stop complaining about abortion, gay marriage, stem-cell research, moral decay, etc. etc. “

This is an attempt to skirt the issue and demonize the statement that we should follow Christ first.

“Christians are not supposed to be weak queer little long haired fags.”

Further demonization…

“So if a cop tells you to get out of your car and cluck like a chicken you have to submit to it? “

This is ridiculous, but it continues -

“Jesus answered the questions, Jesus was beaten and killed for giving truthful answers and being humble and not using His authority. That is the way it will be for all innocents if something isn’t done about those power hungry “boys”.”

um – Christians are supposed to rejoice for being able to suffer for His name’s sake…

“According to you the Germans were being good Christians for not resisting the Nazi’s.”

More demonization – I never said a word about Nazi’s – nor would I – we cannot oppose the teachings of Christ – going along with the Nazi agenda of genocide would be going against the teachings of Christ…

“So you owe you nothing to america you just live here.”

This is a guilt ploy – the good ole – if it wasn’t for America you wouldn’t have freedom of religion – and to that I say what good is freedom of religion if you allow it to undermine your relationship with Christ.

“Romans 13 = Adolf Hitler’s favorite passage of scripture”

So we should ignore Romans 13 now based on Hitler? Does anyone else see how many Christian Americans will fight the teachings of Christ tooth and nail in order to defend their so-called American rights?

HJD Youth Group – Live on BlogTV!

After 6 weeks of using Stickam.com to broadcast our Friday night Youth Group meetings we are switching to Blogtv! Blogtv should be far more suitable for our broadcast and the safety of our viewers. The biggest difference is that on Blogtv, only the broadcaster has a screen by which to broadcst. On Stickam, anyone could come in and disrupt the room by doing or saying anything at all.

Blogtv will allow you to post text messages to the person monitoring the room, but it does require a free membership to do so. You can view the broadcast without a membership however.

So join us tonight, April 17th from 7-9pm (eastern time) as we praise the Lord and learn from the scriptures!

Click there to watch the broadcast -> http://www.blogtv.com/People/christoferl

No Broadcast This Evening…

There will be no broadcast this evening of the HJD Youth Group because we will be attending a screening of “the Passion of the Christ” at our church along with the kids of our youth group. I will bring the camera along and try to get some response from the people there, but I can’t make any promises. We come from a small town, and I don’t know how well they will take to being on Youtube. LOL. At any rate – we will resume broadcasting next week, but we plan to do so on blogtv.com as opposed to Stickam.com. I am leaving our mini-tutorial for stickam.com up however because one any given night there are typically some great Christian chat rooms over there which you might want to partake in.

While this is the weekend we traditionally celebrate the resurrection of the Christ – I hope you will keep in your mind and your heart that every day is Jesus’ day – thus the term, Happy Jesus Day…

Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Let us rejoice!
